Going Racin'

Early tomorrow morning, and I do mean early.......4am..... Erik and I are heading out to Banks Lake, Washington for the first Hyrdoplane race of the season! We're meeting his parents at the Sunbanks Resort, which is also where we're staying for the night. It'll be a great time....we always have a good time with the crowd that's always there. Gorgeous scenery, lots of campfires, lots of beer and lots of fun.

Powerful JuJu is all ready to go! Should be a great time..... hopefully the weather holds out, since it's absolutely gorgeous right now.

I'll post photos and maybe some video next week (if I can figure out how to post video, that is).

Here are some photos of the 2nd hydroplane, LittleJuJu! It's a sexy, fast hydro in the making...... can't wait until she's done! Check it out!

I can't seem to break up the pictures and captions correctly, my HTML thing is being complicated. So, here's a list of what you will see: The first day we saw the boat upclose, a photo of Little JuJu parked next to Powerful JuJu, The J&E Racing Team founder and son, the workspace we've deemed the "HydroHut" and Erik busy sanding her down....

I think that's is for now...... I'll have Erik take some pics for me this weekend since I'll be participating in the Mercer Island Rotary Club Colon Cancer Awareness walk.

I'll try to update progress more frequently too....... what a fun project :-)

Cabo San Lucas Vacation Pics!

Aren't we just so cute?!?!

We went on a fantistic camping trip to Winthrop..... I had never been through the North Cascades Hightway and it was absolutely beautiful. Camping was awesome..... we met up with 2 other couples (plus Jeremy!) and went floating down the river and hiking in the mountains - then on our way home, Erik and I went driving all around on logging roads - SO relaxing.....

What a blast :-) We should do it again next summer.

Hydro Pictures

Okay, how fun does that look! Jeff (Erik's papa) is having the time of his life flying on top of the water..... The four guys looking at the engine are Jeff and Erik and Russell and Wyatt, a couple of Erik's cousins. This was earlier this summer in Newport, WA (about 2 hours north of Spokane) - AWESOME camping trip....

More hydro racing coming up in early Sept in Ione, WA. Unfortunately I won't be there (I'll be in Cabo San Lucas!!) - but Erik does get to get in and fire it up this time. EEK!
